Training Tips and Tricks
Sit:
To make your dog sit, say, "Sit" then push it's bottom down and say good dog and pet him/her. If you see your dog sitting when you didn't tell it to, say good sit and pet him/her.

After some work....
let your dog play!!!
Down:
To make your dog lay down have your sit and then say down or lay down and push it into a laying position.
Paw:
While your dog is sitting, say paw and take the dogs paw. Then praise her.
Hold it (Steady)
Grab your dog's muzzle firmly but not hard, and put a treat on it. Then say hold it or steady and hold your dogs muzzle flat for a few seconds, then say O.K. and release it.
Hand Signal Sit:
When you are making your dog sit, say sit and use the hand signal you want to use, like holding a fist up to your chest. Remember to reward your dog if he/she does it right, but don't hit it if it does it wrong. If you do this every time you have him/her sit, you will eventually be able to have your dog sit by hand signal.
Hand Signal Lay Down:
If you want your dog to sit and lay down on hand signals, first teach it to sit with hand signals, then make it sit using your hand signal. After it has sat, say lay down an use another hand signal like pointing to the ground. keep doing this and your dog will become a pro at this in no time.
Just remember not to hit him/her but reward if the job was done right.
Over/jump
Take a gate or some thing your dog can jump over (for example: a broom balanced on the couch and a table) and make sure there is no room below for your dog to squeeze through. Then put a treat on the other side of the obstacle and say your command (over/jump).
Have fun, But be firm!
